Governors Square

Sacramento, CA 95854

Review: I’ve tried to get my fireplace repaired for the last six months! For starters, I keep getting the run around and have sent letters, and made phone calls, to no avail. I pay for this ammenity and would like it fixed. There is little or no securilty; I’ve had to call the police twice, and the noise from the street is pretty bad. Those reasons and considering the price I’m paying for this “joint” is good reason for leaving as soon as the lease is up. The scuddlebutt from the neighbor’s, is that the owners want to keep the repairs down to a minimum, as they want to sell the place, so the buyers can build a high rise building. Who know……? Just don’t rent here!

Review: I have had an excellent experience here at the Governor’s Square apartments. All staff has gone above and beyond for anything I have requested and I am 100% satisfied with my apartment. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone.

Review: The hottub is cold, the gym only has three pieces of quipment, the central heat and air does not work half the time and managers refuse to fix it, you car will be broken into several times and don’t forget the smell of fresh urine in the morning. It is very unsafe and dirty. When my lease is up in March I am gone!!!!

Cottage Bell in Sacramento, CA Aparment Reviews

Cottage Bell
1945 bell street
Sacramento, CA 95825

Review Date: 7/22/2007
Review: The residents reflect the current assistant manager. I have lived here a few years now and the feel of this complex changes with each assistant manager that comes along. For a low rent apartment, this place is ideal. The grounds are kept clean and they have gardners. Most management is professional. Parking is tricky and the one way street is forced to be used as a two way street. There are many near accidents a day. Garbage is often overflowing from the bins.
Unfortunately, the Cottage Bell is renting to tenants that are loud, rude, messy and disrespectful to other tenants. The complex has cut back on security and other maintenance needs. It is starting to roll down hill FAST!! Hopefully we can get an assistant manager that is respectful to all tenants and will lead by example. Current tenants are all hoping for better.

Review: I lived here for over 2 years, and was very satisfied with the location (very close to Howe Park, shopping, business). I found the management staff to be excellent–Mary (manager) went out of her way to give me plenty of info before I moved in, and maintenance was always responsive to my requests. The complex was very well maintained & upkept. Compared to other complexes in the neighborhood, this one had low crime, although, on occassion, there were some dodgy residents (who, fortunately, didn’t stay around very long). No complaints–I am glad that I picked Cottage Bell Apartments.

Review: The management is unprofessional. They are intrusive when they want something yet they do not return calls when a tenant is in need.

The security is a joke. They have taken away walking patrols and if you need something at night the on site manager does not answer her door. When she does speak to tenants she is unprofessional beyond belief!!

If something needs to be repaired they do the least and cheepest amount of work. I moved in and my place was filthy! They sent in a second cleaner and it still had old food on the floors, in the cubbords and in the fridge. The management did nothing to remedy this.

The parking is the worst ever! Don’t think about having a guest over either, there is no where for them to park and it is a gated community. If you lose your gate card you have to hope that another person will come or go inorder to get in. The phone at the gate does not work.

The laundry rooms are locked whether a person is finishing a load or not. No exceptions.

The BBQs do not work properly and are dangerous.

The maintance guy is really friendly and willing to do what he can with what he is given.

The pool is always clean. The grounds are clean and people seem to pick up after themselves.

The 1 bd/1ba apartment layouts are decent. Around 600 sq ft. They have walk in closets and wall to wall closets. The kitchen cabinets are a bit awquard and hard to use many of them. There are no dishwashers and the sinks are small.

It’s too bad that the on site management is unresponsive and lacks personal skills. She is unprofessional and makes living here undesireable.

Review: I still live at Cottage Bell Apartments… I find the community to be very serene with great neighbors. Also, the management is caring and responsive; even at 2am unlocked my front door and changed the lock when my keys were stolen.

Review: Depending on the day, you may get a friendly greatly, you may not.

Parking is very very bad and management will do nothing to try and resolve the problem. Steps could be taken but are not.

Management tends to be a bit intrusive at times, which I find to be very unprofessional. Sometimes has an attitude when asking questions, especially regarding the parking situation.

I was under the impression pets were not allowed in this complex. However, there are tenants with pets, that are recent tenants, not tenants before the pet policy changed.

I believe the management can be somewhat discriminatory towards some tenants. Asking unreasonalbe requests, that would definately make the average persons hair stand on end!

The management team needs a complete overhaul!!!!

I would not recommend Cottage Bell Apartments.

The Park At Point West in Sacramento, CA Aparment Reviews

Review: It's a great place, but i am never moving back. they had upgraded the the labby and pool. but now because of it they have to increase my rent… not my fault they couldnt pay but why us. i have seen everyone moving out cause if it. and the ladies there are very rude, very….

Review: February of 2008 The Park at Pointe West (TPPW) located in Sacramento, CA advertised a free carpet cleaning as an incentive for lease renewals; I never received it. The manager informed me via phone that it was noted by a coworker in my file that I Okayed to not have my carpet cleaned. This statement is absolutely false. Who would turn down a free carpet cleaning’ Also, I do not recall signing any documentation indicating that I made that statement.

October of 2008 I moved out of TPPW. I received a bill for a standard carpet cleaning treatment in the amount of .00. In violation of The Department of Consumer Affairs under Tenants Rights, TPPW proceeded to bill me for normal wear and tear. I sent a check on January 24, 2009 to clear my account. However, I believe this charge is unreasonable. Aside from the fact that they are in violation of Tenants Rights laws, the least that could have been done is for them to honor the advertised carpet cleaning from February 2008 that I never received. I am appalled by the unprofessionalism portrayed by this establishment. Not only did they proceed to charge me for the carpet cleaning, it took the manager three months to get back to me after numerous unreturned phone calls.
When I first moved in I didn’t want to believe the reviews I read about previous tenants complaints with final account balances. The location was great and Valerie was very sweet. I signed a lease, didn’t have any problems at all. Signed a second lease, Valerie went on maternity leave and the place fell apart. I’m so disappointed in how the current manager handled this problem. I’ve been in a position of management before and I am utterly shocked by how unprofessional and how poorly this matter was addressed.

Review: The appliances are old, all electric energy wasters. Monthly utilities on a 2bdr apt are higher than a friend's 4bdr house. Expect to pay – for electric if you use no AC or Heat. You will also pay a utility bill for water & trash as part of your rent that averages your neighbors usage and includes the wasteful exterior watering. You also need to buy renter's liability insurance to cover dishwasher overflows and the like. If you have more than one car expect a monthly charge for that too, and there is essentially no street parking. The onsite staff are know-nothing management tools — spokespeople spouting the property company's lies with a smile and no shame. I have not personally had a problem with theft, but they installed security cameras throughout due to the level of theft – apparently washing machines were being stolen as well as cars.
