Review: It is the worst place that you can imagine and live in. Not to mention the fact that it's very old with the worst mangmanet ever especailly Jason who suck big time and lie all the times. I regret living there and giving them my money i could of used else where. My advise to yo is better to live in the street than living there, yes to that degree. Old, Ugly appartment, very expensive and the rent keeps going up each time.

Review: The management people don't care about their customers, and they don't even realize that they have their jobs coz of us. I don't recommend this place to any body. worst place that I ever rented.

Review: My husband and I lived there when he was doing his post grad up until I was pregnant with our second baby. We had a one bedroom apartment facing I-94. As with all apartments that we have rented I'm never totally satisfied when we first rent it, but as we moved everything in and I got settled, I loved the apartment. I understand when others talked about safety. It certainly doesn't look like the safest area of town, but when we go out at night we do see many young students around the area. Usually the front of the building at the pizza place or across the street where the coffee shop is. We've never had any problems when we go out at night, whether it is coming home from the train station from a late flight or walking over to a nearby restaurant to grab a bite. When I was pregnant with our first baby, sometimes I'd feel nauseous at night and my husband would suggest walking across the I 94 pedway overpass to the other side where Augsburg College was to fly a kite or even just for a late night stroll.

We loved the parking stalls that we were given. We had one car to start with and once we had our first baby, we got a second car with an extra parking stall. The second stall was right behind the first stall that we already had. It was right across from the elevator and our apartment was also right around the corner from the elevator. My husband and I did have a couple of bikes that did get stolen in the garage, and my husbands car did get scratched and a bit dented by someone that parked in the stall next to him that was not even supp'd to park there. Overall I still loved the parking.

The appearance of the apartment was average, but was much better than the place we were at prior to that.

I loved the office staff. They were very accomodating and always tried to help with anything that they could. Out of all the office staff that we have dealt with, they have been the best.

We didn't have any maintenance issues either. They were quick to help us if we had any problems and also offered advise when we had questions or concerns.

The condition of the unit was average, but with never having a garberator before, I loved it. ;)

Our unit was on the third floor and facing I 94. At first it was a little noisy, but I soon got used to it and I did like having the view versus facing the inside where you only get to look at the oppossing apartment windows. It would have been too quiet for me.

Overall we loved the apartment. It was very central. We didn't have to drive far to get anywhere and if we were leaving town, it was close enough to the train station that we would walk there and take it to the airport versus having to fight rush hour traffic and also having to pay for parking at the airport which would cost an arm and a leg. My husband also hates commuting and this place got him to work in less than 15 minutes. We eventually moved to Roseville as we needed more room for the arrival of the second baby, and Cedars 94 does not have 3 bedrooms. Like I said before, I eventually got used to the next apartment and now the apartment that we are in after that, but I still highly recommend this apartment. Still miss everything there especially the friendly office staff.

Review: I currently live here and I have never hated an apartment building like this before. Looking at the rent you pay and crappy apts with stinking carpets both in the hallways and rooms….the place is disgusting and way overrated. The neighborhood is quiet dangerous too. There was a 9 car break-in on Oct 22nd in the garage. Not the street…the GARAGE. Very scary people walking the hallways and sitting on balconies. This is the biggest mistake i've made in my 14yrs of renting. Please avoid…..it's not worth it at all. I can't wait for my 1yr to end next summer.

Diamond Eight Terrace Apartments
3200 Diamond Eight Terrace
Minneapolis, MN 55421

Review Date: 2/10/2007
Review: Diamond Eight Terrace has nothing to offer. The apartments are spacious, but the bathrooms have not been updated. I can hear my neighbors from all sides. There are garages however they are about a block away from most of the buildings. Rent has been raised twice in less than 12 months. Overall this place is a dump.

Review: I had some problems when I first moved in but they were quick to fix and kept on top of all the problems I had after that. They were so friendly and accomidating even when I moved out, so I am moving back!

Review Date: 5/9/2006
Review: After months of patience, managament still allowed illegal tennants to live above us and create much noise with children not on lease. smells bad, looks bad…… worth a few more dollars to sleep at night.

Review Date: 5/8/2006
Review: Terrible smells comming in from the walls from neighbors kitchen! Thin floors! Management refused to help and my wife is vomiting from smell! Stay far away from this complex if you want sleep, security , and a place you’re not embarrased to live in!

Review Date: 6/19/2003
Review: My experience at this apartment complex has been mixed. When we first moved in, the place was filthy, windows were broken, doors were kicked in, burn marks on the carpet, etc etc. We complained bitterly to our resident manager, but we still had to clean everything ourselves. Our next 2 managers have been nicer. Maintainence comes but doesn’t really fix things (our refrigerator leaks because it’s too full?!?). We have a giant 2 bedroom apt (nearly 1000 square feet) and cheap rent. The courtyard is nice and I have always felt safe in the area and the complex. Parking is easy to find. I’d recommend it to anyone who can overlook some imperfections!

Kleinman Realty Company in Minneapolis, MN Aparment Reviews

Kleinman Realty Company
5301 East River Road
Minneapolis, MN 55421

Review Date: 1/22/2010
Review: They are really terrible. I lived at their property in St. Anthony for 2 1/2 years and they are currently trying to charge me for 0.00 additional to my 0.00 deposit. There was no real damage just your basic wear and tear…I mean we lived there for almost 3 years! They are greedy and will stiff you every chance they get. Also they put some bs wording in your lease that says you CAN T give notice during the months of October and November even though I was buying a home and our lease had expired on August and we were month to month they were unwilling to work with me so I have to pay two months of extra rent. Not to mention the fact that no one ever picked up the after hours emergency number and it was suppose to be a secured building but since we lived in the building with the leasing office the door was always unlocked even though the office was down stairs so they would have no idea who was coming and going all day long. JUST AN ALL AROUND TERRIBLE COMPANY TO RENT FROM BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!

Review: Great apartments. The management is always willing to consider adding improvements to the living spaces, new appliances, carpet, windows, light fixtures, etc. The property manager is always willing to make sure that you are treated right. We loved our building manager, especially the time we called him at 9PM because our fridge broke, during the summer. He came over in about 15 min. with a new fridge from a vacant apartment. Huge blessing.

Review: I loved this apartment up until i decided to move out. no where in the lease did it say a sixty day/two month notice. Nowhere. when i tried moving out they made me stay ANOTHER month.I was so unhappy with that. what kind of legality/technicality is “you never inquired as to when it was?” i shouldn’t have to. 30 day notice is standard. why would this realty company feel this need? Honestly though, beautiful apartments. awesome pool lots of parking. crappy washer and dryers though 1.25 to wash 1.25 to dry. they really should have reconsidered that

Review: I have no real complaint against Kleinman Realty except for their utter greed and total dishonesty.

I requested that someone come to inspect the apartment before I left the premises. The agent I met and rented the apartment from called me and said she would not be able to inspect the apartment before I was to leave. She asked me to leave the keys, parking permit, and my forwarding address in the turned-off refrigerator, which I did.

I cleaned the apartment thoroughly; the walls, the bathroom, the kitchen, the cupboards, and vacuumed the entire apartment. I must admit that I did leave three small cigarette burns the size of a pencil eraser; one in the living room and two in the bedroom that could have easily been fixed with very small patches. I figured it would be fair to charge me from to for this.

Instead of getting my 0 security deposit back, I received a bill from Kleinman Realty for 7.14 for their “alleged” expenses for cleaning the apartment, replacing the ENTIRE carpet, and a charge for the building entrance key (which I left in the refrigerator with the others as asked).

I took them to conciliation court in Ramsey County, Minnesota because I felt this was, well, greedy and dishonesty on Kleinman Realty’s part. The person they sent in their defense was straight out of Hollywood central casting, the “Black Bart” type dressed all in black (I kid you not). He was arrogant, condescending, and in my opinion, not very bright.

The court “referee” decided that Kleinman Realty could keep my 0 security deposit, but could not charge me the additional 7.14. I honestly believe he reached that decision not on merit, but simply to placate both sides.

Review: My apartment was beautiful, sunny and had a view of downtown. They did a nice job fixing the place up, the hardwood floors sparkled and the maintenance was fairly good BUT the company was a bunch of meanies.

I lived here over 5 years, paid my rent, and was never loud or anything. In fact, I’m one of the people living in the Stevens neighborhood that make this place a great place to be. I cared about this place and was involved with the neighborhood organization and art coop.

I even put up with the crack head, ex con resident manager, MELVIN, who told me during the application process…”i used to live in chicago, up until the murder”…no joking…he offered no explanation either. This dude was a grade A jerk. He once dug personal mail out of the hall garbage and slid it under my door with a note that said ” no personal garbage in the communal garbage can” WTF? Then he wrote me up when my father had a cigarette outside the apartment. JEEZ. I mean, the crack heads all get to hang around outside…but a decent person should not be seen.

Ok, now the real reason I hate them. I’ve had a few roommates so they decided to end my lease when I had another one apply. They sent me a notice to move out. I called them and they said that they just sent that in case my roommate did not get approved. Well by the time they approved her application (2 months), and MELVIN missed numerous appointments with her to sign the lease, she was ready to move on.

So, no roommate and the notice stood and I had 15 days to move out and they would not extend the lease for one more month so I could find a place to live. NOW, I’m on the streets with all my stuff going to storage till I can find a place. That’s what I get in paying them over K in rent.

I wish better people owned this building. I love the neighborhood and my apartment and the neighbors are all pretty cool too. SOB
