Review: Ive been reading through some of these reviews and I dont get it. I love the cap hill area and these apartments. I just resigned for another year and if I ever felt mistreated I would have looked for a new place. As far as the staff, I have not one bad thing to say about them. They have rules and they follow them. I had a friend park where she wasnt supposed to, she got towed. I messed up something in my apartment, I paid for it. I missed the grace period on paying rent, so I paid the fee. Some of these reviews Ive read have talked about them being rude and "unfair" well its not 1st grade. just follow the rules and except no one is gonna hold your hand in the grown up world, so when you mess up, dont expect to slide on it.

Review: Deena (the leasing office manager) has to be one of the most spiteful, hateful women on this Earth. You can tell she has so much bitterness in her own life that she feels the only thing that will make her feel better is to make sure everyone she comes into contact with, also has nothing but bad experiences. My heart goes out to those who work with her. She has to be one of those manipulating bosses that make you feel like you are worthless and replaceable. I have to say that maintenance and housekeeping was always doing the best they could, although, it seemed they only had two people working. The first time I lived in this hell hole, I needed a maintenance man STAT I paged and waited 15 minutes, paged again, waited 15 minutes, again… again… and again… I had to of paged this guy nearly 15 times. The next day I complained to the office. No apology, nothing. Their excuse was, "he said he never received the page". Sometimes I don’t hear my phone because I DONT WANT to, but that doesn't mean I never received the call. Another issue with the MNT. people AND the office was; when I originally moved in (I was the first tenant in the apartment. Yipee!!) Everything was so beautiful and new you could smell it! One issue… my shower was completely flat at the bottom to the point that the water would just flow right out into the open bathroom. I spoke to Deena for three weeks straight about it and every week was a different reason as to why it wasn’t fixed. To clean up the water I had to use around six of my towels and then find places to hang them! Then we had to wash them, dry them, all at the cost of me! A couple days? Fine! But THREE weeks? Give me a break! The water flow was so bad it was probably flowing between walls of the apartments below me, which could cause severe molding issues (that'll look good in court Deena)! Anyhow, the finale to this story is that I had enough and laid down a sticky strip that would block the centimeter of water and the problem was solved. I told Deena about the make shift task and her response was, "that violates your lease and you could be sued and evicted!" I couldn’t believe it! I continued to shower, ripped up the strip and didn’t clean up a drop of water. Hope it helps that wretched building crumble to the ground!

That was just maintenance. Haha! If you read though the other reviews you will see MAYBE two good reviews. I can tell you these two reviews are probably written by Deena. This has always been her verbiage in all of her somewhat verbally abusive monthly news letters. The capitalizing of the word YOU really gives it away. One month someone must have called whoever you call to make a complaint about fire exits or fire codes, something like that. Deena came back at the person in her news letter; she said something like, Thank you to whoever called the Denver Fire Department about our building not being current with fire codes. It was very kind of YOU, however, HERE at Broadway Residences, we are very blah blah blah blah blah… if YOU have any further questions, YOU can come to the office…. " You get my point. Every time I have walked in or out of that building, I have avoided seeing that womans face. I can assure you that there is approximately 80% of the tenants that are reconsidering their lease due solely to the acts of Deena and her office staff. I would know this because I spoke with every single one of them. The only people who did not have issues with her were the elderly or handicapped tenants. Maybe she’s like my grandmother who hates every young person in the book because she’s turned into an old bag? I don't know. All I know is something’s got to give!! I am a young, professional adult (mid 20’s) with no legal offenses, drug or alcohol problems and I do not have those types of friends. Have I seen them in the building? Yes. Is that me? No. Do I believe Deena treats those all of us who are under the age of 40 alike? YES! I have moved out of Colorado and live in a beautiful house, prime location and great monthly payments… however, this miserable woman has made such a horrible lasting impression on me, I can’t help but write this three months after last seeing that building.

Should you decide that the building is so nice and in such a great location, for the price and you are willing to have a psycho mother asking who is over and when, towing your car at any given chance and taking money from you when it is not hers… then fine! I'll give you some tips.
1) Do not walk near the front office. This includes when you order pizza or food over, or just want to walk over to the liquor store on the corner and ESPECIALLY if you have a friend over. God forbid she thinks someone is staying with you too much! She will try to make you sit in her office and give her a schedule of when your significant other will be over. No thanks mom!!
2)Park in between the lines when parking and only park in the basement level. Bring mace or a gun because it’s not that safe down there. I have a friend who was walking home from school and was attacked by a homeless guy. I forgot to mention the awesome crack house in the back alley! OMG! It adds some character. Please make sure you ALWAYS have your permit up and it doesn’t fall down for some reason and someone doesn’t steal it out of your car while you are asleep. Even if your car is registered with the office… they don’t care! The office will not check. They only care if the tag is hanging on the rearview mirror. To those of you who may not have a rearview mirror, good luck! Please make sure your plates are current too. However!!! If you have a car that you just want to sit around and have it collect dust, I’m sure Deena will allow it to take up space in that parking garage!

3) Look over every single line of your lease. Memorize it in your sleep and don’t miss a word!!! This is very important because Deena will find minor paraphrases in the document to prove a point of hers, however when it comes down to an obvious point of yours, such as what your deposit was… even though your deposit says 0 in the lease, she will say she only has proof showing you gave her 0… See the pattern? She goes by the lease when it benefits her but not when it benefits you.
4) When you depart the building DO A WALK through! REQUIRE IT!! She may try to get out of it. Have a witness with you (not a young professional… you better bring your trustworthy mom or better yet, your CEO! This extra person will come into play when she says your apartment is in great shape and you will get your full deposit back! YAY!!! Celebration! Do NOT celebrate yet! Get a piece of paper with your name and apartment number on it, address of 1135 Broadway and Deena’s Signature. Yes! Good job! Still do NOT celebrate yet! LEGALLY, in the state of CO, landlords are required to return deposits within 60 days. Should a landlord wait until the 61st day, they are subject to pay you THREE TIMES the amount of the deposit. Please remind this old bag of the law. She claims to know the whole book!

5)Any transaction you make with this woman, document it and have a witness with you if possible. Actually, I just came up with a number 6!

6) GET A LAWYER if you plan to move here!

Review: I lived there for 3 years and the place was great. Managment did a great job dealing with a number of immature tenants. Those people should take responsiblity for their own actions and stop blaming Deena. A bad manager would have let those kind of people get away with things until things got out of control. Deena put her foot down and the low lifes are simply trying to get her back. Your are bound to have at least a few morons living in the building when you are downtown, night clubs nearby, and its rather afforadable. The garage broke a few times and it annoyed me to, but I call things like I see it.

Review: Every comment made by other tenants on this site are 100% true, except for the one s saying anything good about the place. I tried since day one to be a good renter. Do and say all the right things.. follow the rules.. and smile and act kindly towards the staff… and where did it get me? SCREWED! I have confided in family members and co-workers about the way things are at this apartment complex and they assure me, it is not me… I have been treated terribly.. and they have sucked the money from me every time I turn around… I am truly afraid to go into detail about the specifics of the way I have been abused by these monsters.. for fear one of them might know it is me writing these things about "them".. No doubt they would retaliate against me.. geeze.. they already screw me over in every possible way…This place makes for a terrible place to call "home" there is nothing homey about it.. yes, our apartment is nice.. but the ancillary aspect negates anything positive… I am really unhappy with living here… there is something hitler-ish about it… and I cannot wait until my lease is up… oh, yes.. I am sure I'll be screwed once again when they find a reason to keep my deposit…I truly would never ever recommend this place to anyone.. and it is too bad.. because the apartment and surroundings are what you make of them.. but the staff will make you feel as if you are in hell…..

Review: I had the pleasure of living in the Broadway Residences for the past two years. I recently moved out when I bought a house. I found the apartments to be well constructed and maintained. I did not have a lot of noise from my neighbors and whenever there was a maintenance problem (rarely), the management staff was prompt to respond. Overall, my living experience was a good one. Any problems I encountered we the result of a few of the rude and disrespecful tenants that were unfortunately allowed to reside in this otherwise nice property.

I am somewhat surprised by the attacks on the management staff on this review site, especially Deena. I can only surmise that the people that have written these ridiculas complaints are the same jokers that did not respect the building and their fellow residents and when were scolded by the management. I personally applaud Deena and her staff for trying to get control of the few hulligans that attempt to ruin an otherwise nice living experience for the other residents.
